Love without expecting anything in return. Focus on God, for He is the one who will reward you generously. If you look for human reward, you may not show love at all, since love is often not rewarded; it is frequently betrayed.
Love even when you are offended. Continue showing love to those who offend you, for vengeance belongs to God. If your enemy or offender is hungry, feed him, for in doing so, you will heap burning coals on his head, which may lead him to turn to Jesus. Let your life be a message; you shall be “the true sons of your Father.”
Love even your enemies and those who plan to harm you, remembering that “no weapon forged against you will prevail.” It is all about maintaining a pure heart and clean hands. Love even if it is not appreciated.
