THE SEX TALK

Sex talk refers to discussions about sex, where individuals express their views and opinions on the subject. For married individuals, sex talk can be beneficial, helping them improve their sexual relationships and meet each other’s needs for sexual gratification. This segment is not intended to promote premarital sex but rather to encourage sex education through open discussions about sex.

There are many informative books available that can assist married individuals who seek sexual satisfaction. However, resorting to X-rated films for sexual education may not be ideal, as the acts depicted are often unnatural and drug-induced.

People discuss sex for various reasons. Unfortunately, some do so with bad motives or intentions, while others may talk about it to boast about their sexual prowess. Some discuss it with the aim of educating others. Generally, sex talk is beneficial as long as it remains untainted by immoral intentions.

FACTORS MILITATING AGAINST SEX TALK

Human beings are naturally inclined to sex. It is abnormal not to have an interest in sex, including discussing it. However, several factors prevent most people from engaging in open conversations about sex. These factors include shyness and belief systems.

  • Shyness: It is important to acknowledge that human beings have a natural interest in sex, including discussing it. However, shyness is a significant factor that prevents people from openly expressing their views on sex. Shyness often turns people into pretenders, making sex talk a secretive matter rather than an open discussion for educational purposes. As a result, many individuals, deprived of the benefits of sex education, find themselves making sexual errors or being misinformed. Many people engage in premarital sex due to a lack of open conversation about sex. We should be bold enough to talk about sex, though with a level of respect and dignity, because sex should be viewed and treated as something sacred.
  • Belief System: Another factor hindering open discussions about sex is belief systems. Some people believe that talking about sex is unholy and therefore sinful. They think that sex talk does not edify their spiritual well-being and does not bring them closer to God. However, as mentioned before, everyone has an interest in sex, regardless of their religious background. Due to their religious beliefs, many people adopt a life of hypocrisy, suppressing their true feelings about sex. What they fail to realize is that sex is ordained by God; without it, God’s law on procreation would not take effect.

Therefore, we should be open about sex and discuss it with good motives. Our aim should be to educate others about sex and help solve sex-related problems between couples by providing them with the knowledge they need. Sex talk is beneficial, and we should encourage it for the good of our society and the world.
